He was a World War II Army Veteran and retired from the KAT trucking firm and Globe Security. He was a member of the Hummelstown United Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Aurand Cowden; two brothers and a sister. He is survived by 2 sisters, Agnes Swartley of Steelton and Josephine Loy of New Cumberland; a stepson, Robert Clare of Greencastle; and a number of nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren. Services at Indiantown Gap Thursday, November 10.
