    Jon Jonsen søkte 17.mars 1612 kansler Christian Friis til Borreby om tillatelse om å gifte seg med sin tremenning Kirsten Olsdatter. Saken ble henlagt. Sannsynligvis inngikk de to giftemål, og Jon Jonsen ble dernest dømt for blodskam og mistet embedet.

    I lensregnskapet 1615-16 måtte han bøte femteparten av 650 riksdaler for denne forseelsen. Hr. Jons formue var dermed anslått til 650 riksdaler da, hvilket var en pen sum.

    Jon Jonsen fikk kongens tilgivelse i 1615 og ble tildelt embedet som sokneprest i Orkdal.

    Jon Jonsen hadde dette embedet fram til ca.1644.

    Han overtok Sundby gård i 1626 ved makeskifte med kongen, mot 4 spann i gården Reppe i Stjørdal.

    Jon Jonsen eide flere gårder i Orkdal.
