    I sitt brev datert 30.oktober 1952 fortalte moren Astri om at Betty hadde vært et halvår i London som au-pair, men at hun ikke trivdes så godt. Det ble for mye arbeid.

    Den 28.august 1953 skrev moren Astri at Betty hadde fått kontorjobb hos grosserer Bache-Andreassen på Hoff ved Schøyen.

    Hun bor da i en hybel like ved arbeidsplassen.
