Michael tok over gården Settem etter at moren døde på Åsgård i 1671.
I skiftet etter Michael i 1697 var gården med påstående hus og sagbruk utlagt til kjøpmann Erik Mosberg i lille-Fosen, for hans krav i boet på 210 riksdaler, som - Mikkel - i 1692 hadde lånt av han. Til husene på gården var også medreknet 2 kakkelovner, som var en rik eiendel på en gård på denne tiden.
Hustru Margrete Hansdatter Holm. Datter af Hans Christensen Holm og Birgitte Samuelsdatter Arctander. Rimeligvis opkaldt efter Hans Holms første hustru Margrete.
