- Alfred, wife Ellen Anna and the children came to USA.
Ellen Anna died, and Alfred went back home to Norway with his daughter Alise.
Alfred remarried and had 4 more children. But when the youngest child was 4 months old, the mother died, and Alfred was sitting alone with 4 children from 4 months to 5 years old.
One child came to his aunt, and a relative came and took care of the rest.
When Alfred died in 1944, the rest of the children came to other relatives, and were taken well care of. There are some families having it a bit harder than other.
