Greetings to family, friends, visitors and fellow genealogists!

Welcome to the genealogy section of our website. This section is dedicated to the history of the people and locations that formed our combined heritage, and we hope it gives you an opportunity to learn something new and exciting about your family. Please feel free to explore this site to see if you have any ties to our family. We must keep the past information alive for future generations.

In most families, there is one story teller who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and breathing life into all who have gone before us. They cry out to us: Tell our story! So, we do. In finding them, we somehow find ourselves. How many times have we "told" the ancestors; You have a wonderful family, you would be proud of us. It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who we are and why we do the things we do. It goes to pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish. How they contributed to what we are today. This genealogy site is created with hopes of preserving their memories and history. It goes to respecting their dreams, dedication and sacrifice, their resoluteness to go on and build a life for their family. It goes to a deep and immense understanding that they were doing it for us. To remember them with love, respect and caring, and scribing each fact of their existence, because we are them and they are us. That is why I do my family genealogy.

I was interested in the family history and genealogy already as a little boy, following my grandmother, Ruth, when she visited her family and friends, listening to their stories from the Old Days. Stories that had been passed down to her, and the ones she had lived herself. Regarding my grandfather, Einar, I was disappointed to realise how little I actually knew about his family and ancestors. Thus, began this journey of discovery.

I officially started my genealogical research in 1992, and publishing this research is part of finding and contacting family and relatives from all over the world. A genealogy is never finished. I've stumbled upon many roadblocks and dead ends.

.

Regarding authenticity, my aim is the truth! By no means do I claim everything on this site is accurate, although I'm working constantly at checking and recording sources. Any entries without sources probably are from the time I changed from the genealogy program Familiearkiv to TMG, and I lost all connection to the sources.

The information displayed here is very much a work-in-progress. Please check your facts. I welcome and appreciate additions, corrections or clarifications, if you see any broken links or dysfunctional elements on the site. Comments and suggestions are also welcome.

I will give proper credit to those persons who enhance this website. Special thanks are extended to many of these persons. Other credits will be indicated as the owner of a picture or a document or as the provider of a bit of the history. If I fail to give proper credit, please let me know about it.

A picture or a story is more vivid than summarising all the dates and places of our ancestors. Therefore ... I am very interested in your (old) photographs of your family and ancestors to enlarge our collection.
