Excerpts from the Forest Review newspaper, July 8, 1938: Funeral services were held at the (German) Baptist Church, Harlem Ave. and Dixon, of which he was an active member. He was born in Kankakee, and with his parents came to Forest Park, then Harlem, in 1874. Their home was at the southwest corner of Madison St. and Beloit Ave., which property remained in the family until the present business block was elected about 10 years ago.

He was employed in the auditing department of the Chicago and Alton Railroad in Chicago, then came to the Oak Park Trust & Savings Bank. When the Harlem State Trust & Savings Bank was organized in 1904, he became cashier. He later became president and continued in that office until the bank was consolidated with Forest Park State Bank until the bank closed in 1931. After that he was in the insurance business.

He was elected Village Clerk for Forest Park in 1902 and served for six years. He was a member of the first board of education of Proviso Twp. High School. He served as national treasurer of the German Baptist Missionary Society for many years, and was chairman of Merchants Division of Forest Park Chamber of Commerce in 1931 and 1932.

After the death of his wife, Tina Fellman, he married Judith Olson (1894-1988) in 1928 and they had one son, William Frederick Grosser, Jr.(1931-1982).
