Beloved brother of Richard (Virginia), Douglas, Robert (Marrianne) and twin sister, Diane. Devoted uncle of Laura, Danny, Pam, Jeff, Christy and Michael. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Fred worked within the healthcare industry, retiring as Chief Financial Officer with Amita Healthcare in 2015. For many years Fred and his partner Ed were snowbirds living in Palm Springs during the winter months. Following Ed’s passing in 2015, Fred made Palm Springs his permanent home. Fred’s interests varied from collecting washing machines and vacuum cleaners to playing cards with friends. His passion was making quilts for friends, which involved many fun trips to his favorite fabric store in Big Bear and taking his sewing machines to be repaired in Temecula. Fred will be missed by his family and numerous friends, especially Bob Frydrych whom he met in College. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 26th at 12 Noon at Wiefels & Son funeral home, 690 South Vella Road, Palm Springs, CA 92264.
