Marlene D. Nelson, 66, of Crooks died Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Sanford Foundation Hospice Cottage.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Visitation with the family present will be from 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the West Nidaros Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the West Nidaros Cemetery.
Marlene Linge was born May 15, 1943 in Dell Rapids to parents Tunice and Delia (Nesheim) Linge. She grew up west of Baltic and attended Lyons Grade School and graduated from Lyons High School in 1961.
On June 22, 1963, she married Donald Nelson at Willow Creek Lutheran Church, Dell Rapids. After their marriage they moved to Crooks, where she raised her family and worked as the bookkeeper for the Crooks Farmers Elevator for many years.
She was baptized and confirmed at Willow Creek Lutheran Church and was an active member of West Nidaros Lutheran Church. She loved to bake, go to car shows and shop for antiques.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Don, Crooks; a son Craig Nelson and his wife Alissa, Baltic; a daughter, Brenda Miller and her husband Chris, Crooks; two grandchildren, Braeden Miller and Taylor Grace Nelson; a sister, Beverly (Ken) Winterton, Madison; and a brother, Delmer (Mardell) Linge, Panama City, Florida; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dennis and a brother, Theodore Linge.
