    • Joachim Holmboe Rønneberg var en norsk grosserer, og sjef for handelshuset Carl E. Rønneberg & Søn, og ordfører i Ålesund for Høyre i 1896, samt varaordfører i periodene 1893–1895 og 1897–1901.

      Joachim Holmboe Rønneberg var sønn av grosserer og konsul Rasmus Gerhard Rønneberg (1822–1884) og Anna Margrethe Holmboe (1825–1907).
      Morfaren var sorenskriver i Nordre Sunnmøre Joachim Gotsche Holmboe (1796–1876), mens faren tilhørte Ålesunds uten sammenligning ledende handelsslekt på 1800-tallet.

      Han gikk på Aalesunds Borgerskole og Aalesunds Lærd- og Realskole (Latinskolen), og tok eksamen artium i 1869.

      Begynte på Universitetet i 1869 som første elev sammen med Kristoffer Randers fra Latinskolen, begge med beste karakter.
      I årene 1871-1872 frekventerte han ved Die höhere Handelsschule i Stuttgart, og studerte til 1875 språk og handelsvitenskap i England, Frankrike og Spania.

      Han trådte i 1875 inn i handelshuset Carl E. Rønneberg & Sønner, grunnlagt av hans farfar i 1812, som på det tidspunktet var Ålesunds ledende handelshus. Han var prokurist i firmaet fra 1884 sammen med den yngre broren Carl E. Rønneberg d. y. og i 1904 ble han og broren innehavere av firmaet.

      Fra 1912, etter brorens død, ledet han firmaet alene. Han har blitt beskrevet som - en helt igjennom sympatisk mann, som levde etter læresetningen - rikdom forplikter.

      Han hadde en rekke offentlige og private verv, som medlem av bystyre og formannskap og som ordfører og varaordfører i Ålesund, samt som vararepresentant til Stortinget for Høyre i perioden 1889-1891.

      Han var også med i Latinskolens forstanderskap, i overlikningskommisjonen, var prestens medhjelper m.m.

      Han ble utnevnt til ridder 1. klasse av St.Olavs Orden i 1895.

      Han var gift med Louise Fredrikke Brinchmann, datter av tollkasserer Harald Brinchmann.
      Han var bl.a. far til Anton Rønneberg og farfar til Joachim Rønneberg og Hjalmar Munthe-Kaas Lund. Han var også svigerfar til Harald Lystad og oldefar til Joakim Lystad.

      Hans farfar var skipsreder og fiskeeksportør Carl Rønneberg (1779–1858), grunnlegger av det rønnebergske handelshus og ofte ansett som byen Ålesunds viktigste grunnlegger.

      Han var bror til Anna Rasmunda Rønneberg, gift med Hjalmar Ahasverus Schelven Munthe-Kaas.
