- Ole Saethre, 67, 704 N. Biltmore, died early this morning at Ball Hospital following an illness of three years.
Mr. Saethre was born in Trondheim, Norway. During his earlier years he served with the Norwegian Navy and was a frequent visitor to the United States until coming here to live in 1922. In 1931 he became a U.S. citizen. During World War II he served with the Merchant Marine and until his retirement in 1961. Prior to the war years he was employed at Chevrolet-Muncie for 10 years.
Mr. Saethre attended the Grace Lutheran Church and was a member of the Seafarers' International Union of North America.
Surviving are his wife, Karen; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law living locally, Mrs. Laura Bonshire.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Meeks Mortuary with Rev. Richard Behrmann, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. Friday. [9]
