I'm posting this as I am proud of Jim and what he accomplished in his life, and I have friends and relatives on Facebook who knew Jim and I think would want to read this (as no one reads the paper anymore).

James - Jim - Francis-Xavier Brown passed away, with his son Dane by his side, in Plano, Texas on February 19, 2023, at the age of 58. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Brown Sr and Elizabeth Skrogstad, and his siblings Kate Segrist, Theresa, John, and Mike Brown.

Born in Cincinnati, Jim graduated from Madeira High School in 1982 and Cincinnati State in 1999.

He is survived by his daughter Kristin, son Dane (Laura), and siblings Pat (Christine) Brown, Joan Brown, Chris (Cathy) Brown, Joe (Sheryl) Brown, Pete (Gretchen) Brown, Tom (Bea) Brown, and Vincent Brown. He is also survived by his grandchildren Hannah, Joanie, Barrett, Ilsa, and Harper, and many nieces and nephews.

He was a long-time employee of Toyota and moved to Plano several years ago when Toyota relocated there from Northern Kentucky. Jim enjoyed spending time on his patio with a cold Budweiser while listening to the Reds or having long phone conversations with his son Dane, whom he called his best friend. Jim's hobby was appearing as an extra in movies. Some people have fifteen minutes of fame, but Jim had less than one minute appearing briefly in the bank scene in the movie Marauders and in Carol and Gotti. He could fix anything and there was no better handyman than Jim. He loved his family and worked hard to provide for them.

Services have been held. If so desired, memorial donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
